This is an extremely scenic route along Lake Geneva that takes you through the Lavaux wine terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You will have the opportunity to feel like you are in the French countryside and stroll through the streets of the wine villages, where time definitely moves at a slower pace. Wine lovers can visit the vineyards and taste the local spirits. And the choice is quite considerable in this area.
However, you don’t have to go off the trail especially for this purpose. Along the route, you will pass several points where you can buy a bottle or a glass of wine. One such place is the Dézaley viewing terrace, where locals sell their wares along the path.
Some people are of the opinion that after a glass of good wine, the hike to the next station seems much easier, and certainly more enjoyable.
Nevertheless, if the route I have mapped out is too long, the walk along the Lavaux terraces can be started and finished in virtually any passing village. This is because the railway line stretches along the shores of the lake and the train stops on demand at each village.
Finally, this route is suitable for a pram walk. However, be warned that there are a few steps on the paths. Also, pushing the pushchair up small hills will nevertheless require some strength in your hands.
