I particularly recommend this route for those living in and around Winterthur. If you have no idea where to go for a longer walk, I recommend the trail from Kemptthal to Winterthur. It is accessible all year round. Admittedly, you won’t see the mountains, but nature is in abundance.
The path leads beside the river Töss, through woods and meadows. Along the way you will pass numerous benches inviting you to sit down and enjoy the surroundings for a while. There are also places prepared for a bonfire. A few times a year I happen to have a barbecue right here on the Töss river.
Along the route, you will cross the old Bruni – Brücke wooden bridge from 1839.
The wildlife park (Wildpark Bruderhaus) is also quite an attraction. Here you can see wolves, lynx, wild boar, bison and deer, among others. Wildpark Bruderhaus has been in existence since 1890. It is open all year round and admission is free.
The tour ends with a walk through the old town of Winterthur.
